Text Box: Why Become An NCP?
Text Box: Why should I become a Nationally Certified Psychologist (NCP)? That is a question I hear a lot. One really good reason is to assert that you are a Psychologist and what better way to let people know that to become certified as a Psychologist. The more people that become certified as Psychologists the more strength we have. There is strength in numbers. In order to move forward and gain recognition as a Master’s level Psychologist we have to grow in number in order to have a better chance at favorable legislation. Also you have access to other NCP’s which gives opportunity to associate with other like-minded professionals. We can come together for conferences, trainings, meetings, electronically and through the PPCB newsletter. It is important for us to have a professional presence: The new license law and the association legitimize Psychologist at the Master's level.  Become part of that professional presence. Please email me your reasons for becoming an NCP at PKCummings@cox.net and I will include it in future newsletters.
